Young Authors’ Camp Island Writers’ Workshop

 

Who can join?

Six different camp sessions are open to 25 students each in June 2018. The Elementary School Camp is for children entering Grades 3-5. Middle School Camp is for children entering Grades 6-8. The Island Writers’ Workshop is for High School students entering Grades 9-12. Campers may register for one or both camps in their age-group.

How much does it cost?

- Regular Camp registration is $185. 

- Late registration will be $200 per camp and begins June 1st.Scholarship application forms are here.

When does camp start?

 

Elementary School Camp Session 1:

Theme: Getting to Know People - Biographies, Autobiographies & Journaling

June 18 to June 29 - 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

  

Elementary School Camp Session 2:

Theme: Games & Game Board Mysteries!

June 18 to June 29 - 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.


Middle School Camp Session 1:

Theme: Epic Summer Writing 

June 18 to June 22 - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

 

Middle School Camp  Session 2:

Theme: Zinetastic Writing 

June 25 to June 29 - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. 

 

Writers Island Workshop Session 1:

Theme: Writing is Art

June 18 to June 22 - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

 

Writers Island Workshop Session 2:

Theme: Capturing the Moment 

June 25 to June 29 - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

 

Open Mic Events @ Barnes & Noble on June 30th.

Where are camps held?

Elementary and Middle School Camps meet in TAMUCC Early Childhood Development Center.

Writer’s Island Workshop will meet in the University Center, Oso Room #221 on the TAMUCC Campus
